Module 1:
Sweater Fundamentals and Essential Supplies
We begin by getting oriented. You’ll learn about the sweater you’ll be knitting and walk through the materials you’ll need. We’ll look at yarn options together and spend time understanding gauge swatching — what it is, why it matters, and how to approach it without stress.
Module 2:
The Art of Perfect Gauge and Precise Measurements
In this module, we spend time understanding gauge, measurements, and how to read patterns with more clarity. You’ll learn how ease works, how to take and use measurements, and how to make thoughtful choices so your sweater fits in a way that feels right for your body.
Module 3:
Seamless Construction: Casting On, Yoke Knitting.
You’ll work through casting on, making neckline choices, and shaping a raglan yoke step by step. We’ll also spend time looking at how your yoke is constructed and how to customize yours thoughtfully, so you can make choices that support both fit and comfort as you knit.
Module 4:
Tailoring Your Sweater: Splitting for Sleeves and Body Adjustments
In this module, you’ll learn different ways to place stitches on hold and split for sleeves, along with options for adjusting the body of your sweater as you go. We’ll talk through how these decisions affect fit and walk step by step through shaping the body and finishing hems in a clean, thoughtful way.
Module 5:
Sleeves, Finishing, and the Afterthought Collar
In this module, we focus on bringing the sweater together. You’ll work through sleeve adjustments and finishing techniques, then learn how to add an afterthought collar. We’ll talk through how and when to use this approach, and how to work step by step so finishing feels manageable and clear.
Module 6:
Finishing Well and Planning What Comes Next
In our final module, we take time to reflect on what you’ve learned and how to carry it forward. We’ll talk about garment care and maintenance so your sweater can be worn and enjoyed for years to come, and we’ll look at how to plan future sweater projects using the skills and understanding you’ve built throughout the course.
