Into the Woodlands Quilt

Quilt Pattern Release!

My Into the Woodlands quilt pattern was released today! Here is why I loved designing and making this quilt.

  • The fabric line “Woodland Keeper” by Maureen Cracknell with Art Gallery Fabrics was my main inspiration. The colors, the cute little woodland animals in the “Awaken Forest Fern” fabric that I used for the backing, and the whole aesthetic helped me design these blocks.

  • This quilt has an on-point feel for one of the two main blocks without having the whole quilt on point.

  • There are a lot of pieces in this quilt, but my instructions make it come together quickly. Chain piecing the eight at-a-time half-square triangles and four at-a-time flying geese in advance helps the flow of the block construction go more rapidly.

  • This quilt makes any style of fabric shine. Love solids? Fantastic. Love prints? Sure, we got you. Fancy batiks? Perfect! A combination of everything is your style? This quilt can handle it.

A Versatile Design :

I have been quilting for over 20 years, and I know that only some people want to buy a pattern that comes in just one size. Now granted, some patterns lend themselves to be just one size; they are a unique design/construction that screams, I only want to be a square and 62” x 62”. But as a designer, I try to publish designs that can be at least two sizes or more.

The “Into the Woodlands” pattern provides directions for a baby 49” x 49”, Lap 64” x 64”, and Queen 94” x 109”. If desired, a clever quilter can adapt this pattern to make a table runner or a king-size.

A special thanks to all my photographer @lisalocusphotography and my wonderful pattern testers: @kate.shea.quilts, @karin_rabe_vance, @thestitchedpeachstudio, @sharonmay2502, @soda.pop.quilts, @debbies.whimsies, @TheWIPStitch I couldn’t have done it without you :)

The gallery below has some of my pattern testers’ stunning finished quilts and tops.

I hope you like the pattern and want to give it a try :)
